    Chris established the Fabkab in 2016 and manages the STEM strategy for the 8000 students aged 4 -19 across The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT). Chris' main focus is to engage industry and SME's to develop unique opportunities and exposure for students wishing to pursue a career pathway within STEM. Chris led BCA to attain STEM Assured Status, the first and only high school in the country to receive such recognition. Chris set up Coder Dojo Warrington which has developed this into one of the largest monthly coding and STEM clubs worldwide. This resulted in Warrington being selected to host the world DojoCon which saw over 600 delegates from across the globe visit our Dojo to gain insight and inspiration. Chris is a Specialist Leader of Education for the DfE, a consultant for STEM Learning UK and is currently leading a STEM project across TCAT linked to academic research by Oxford University postgraduates.

    Neil is ICT Manager and Associate Facilities Manager at Beamont Collegiate Academy and has a wealth of experience in all areas of ICT, Networks and Site Management. As Strategic Manager Neil is able to offer advice and guidance on all areas of Health and Safety and systems management – this has seen rapid growth since Neil’s appointment to the team which has involved development of compressive Health and Safety policy documentation, job allocation and management systems and most importantly website design. Our fantastic website has been completely developed and made live in house and all updates, background coding and programming have been managed by Neil.

    Ryan McKenzie - Senior Technician
    Bitmap and Vector Expert, A Graphic Design Graduate Interested in anything Creative, Specializing in corporate branding and typography. Works with all materials and keen use of machinery. Specialist on our CNC Router, always looking to develop his already versatile skill set. Ryan has a background in Computer Game Design and studied at Priestley College achieving a Level 3 Diploma in Game Design. He went on to gain industry experience working for a 3 dimensional facilities company where his CAD skills were able to develop. Ryan has since set up a graphic design company which although is in its infantile stages already boasts some exceptional work that will add to his growing portfolio. Ryan manages all areas of the Fab Lab including website, a design consultancy service and has been responsible for introducing our bespoke 1:1 tuition service, this has allowed many of the Fab Lab visitors from the community and industry to quickly and accurately develop their ideas.

    Printing Fanatic!! There is nothing Javier Can't make!! From 3D CAD design and manipulation to 3D Printing speeds, quality is always the number one priority to Javier. bring in your project and were sure Javier will be able to help!! Javier has recently completed his degree. At present Javier has registered for a converted Fab Lab Node qualification which sees him working internationally with Fab Lab Madrid in his native Spain. This course involves developing his digital fabrication portfolio and on completion, elevating Fab Lab Warrington to the only UK registered Fab Lab Node status meaning we will be in a position to offer training, guidance and CPD to other Fab Lab throughout the country.

    Vector design skills linked to our amazing laser cutter, Laser cutter machine mechanic and key member to our materials testing team. The resident Mr Fix It. Loves anything computer based from using them to building them!! Expert in electronics including Lego Robotics and Raspberry Pis. Enrique has recently completed his A-Levels. His areas of expertise and interest lie in Mathematics and this will see him go on to study this in the North West. Enrique has a range of industry experience working within our Fab Lab, this includes being commissioned to work on new prototypes which are seeking patenting for release in the near future. Enrique has also been Warrington Fab Lab’s pioneer of the successful Programmables courses which sees youngsters in the area participate in all aspects of code, programming and electronics – his Programmables sessions come highly recommended and have received amazing feedback.

    Ruben is the youngest of the 3 brothers currently at Warrington Fab Lab. Ruben’s initial involvement with the Fab Lab came through visiting our incredibly popular monthly Coder Dojo event. It was obvious from the first visit he was an expert in all things Lego. Specialising in NXT Lego Robotics and the computer programming of these. Ruben has designed and made a Robotic competition board for our younger users to engage with, and has now gone on to teach Lego robotics courses as part of Fab-Lab and Coder Dojo. He also takes an active lead in co-ordinating our fortnightly event, Programmables. Here he teaches and runs a regular variety of workshops. More recently Ruben has moved onto further work with the newly arrived Spheros and has had a helping hand in the bespoke design and manufacture of our Sphero Maze. Feedback from Ruben’s sessions are always Excellent!

He’s now helping people get to grips with Autodesk #Fusion360 allowing them to #MakeAnything from Pacman Race Cars to sausage making machines. Check out the latest #Fusion360 events here. John is the founder of The Future of… this is the UK’s only regular Fusion 360 meet up. This is a tailored session that is open to community and industry alike. Based around a set topic John runs creative sessions focused on upskilling individuals in all areas of Fusion. This is a course that’s free to attend and runs in partnership with our monthly Coder Dojo.

At present Bev represents Beamont Collegiate Academy and is the Primary Transition co-ordinator, she is involved in advertising and marketing the school to new prospective parents Bev has seen a rapid growth in student first choices and is one of the driving factors in seeing Beamont being oversubscribed for the last 3 academic years.
